Welcome to Globals and HoFs
Introduction: On this site you can register your global's and HoF's. The information is put in an database, and can be viewed in an orderly fashion. You can view the globals and HoF's of other people who registered them here. And compare them to yours. If someone registered a global or HoF made in a team. And you were also a member of that team, you can add your picture to that entry too.
The goal of this site, is to get many users who will put in all their global and HoF's info. This site will function as a gallery where you can show your luck to the rest of the world. Instead of putting the pictures on different forums. To let people on the forums know where they can find your global and HoF's screenies, a feature has been put in. This feature automatically creates a signature, which is updated frequently, with your latest global or HoF in it. Use it in your signature on forums, to have an up to date report on your latest global or HoF
How to start registering your globals and HoFs:
First you need to make an account. Click on the apply for an account link. There you fill in the username you want and your email address. When you submit an email will be send to you, for account activation. Press the activation link, and after that you can login with the password which also is in the email.
It is wise to alter your password after that, to a password, more easy to remember for you. Login with the old password. Then click on the 'Change account info' link to change your password.
On the same page you can adjust some other things:
Full avatar name: Here you fill in your in game avatar name. This name will be used on this site, for your global and HoF's. Also it stands on the signature pictures.
Member of society: Here you can choose in which society you are. If none is selected you are considered a freelancer. If your society is not yet in the list, please send a message to me, so it can be changed.
Location of 80x80 pixels avatar picture: Here you can attach a nice avatar image, to your account. This image is used on this site, to show at the global or HoF's details. It would be nice if you use an in game screenshot of your avatar for it. The picture needs to be 80 x 80 pixels. Size doesn't matter, but remember that it has to be loaded by other people too. If the picture is not 80 x 80 pixels, it will be resized to that scale, to display. The picture you link to has to be somewhere on the web. It will not be uploaded to this server.
Make recent global and HoF image: Enable this feature if you want to use a picture of this site as your signature on a forum or other site. The signature made looks like this:

The pictures are updated every half hour, and feature the latest available info! In other words: As soon as you register a new global or HoF, your signature is updated within half an hour!
Please only enable this feature when you use it! Disable it when you will not use it anymore!
Registering a global or HoF:
When you updated your account info, you can start registering your first globals and HoF's. To do that you have to be logged in. Press the 'Register a global or HoF' link.
Choose the profession you got the global or HoF in. If you have chosen hunting, you can now choose whether it was a solo hunt, or a hunt in team. Now fill in all the other info the database needs. All fields speak for itself. Fill in the total value of the loot, as it appeared in the chat screen. If you got the loot in a team, also put in the total loot, not only the loot that you got.
Web location of picture:
- Existing online picture: Fill in the web address where the screenshot of your global or HoF can be found. Remember that the screenshot has to be on the web, and has to stay on that location. The picture will not be uploaded to this server.
Make sure the address you put in looks something like this: "http://www.server.com/images/globalimage.jpg" (start with http and end with the extension of the file)
- Uploading a picture: It is also possible to upload your screenshot to Imageshack® using this website. Imageshack® is a free image hosting service (read more).
After you choose the profession, you can use the upper form for uploading. Browse to the destination of the picture on your hard drive. When you have chosen the file, press "Upload to Imageshack®!". The file cannot be larger than 1,5 megabytes.
It will take a while before the file is uploaded. After success you will be redirected to the form again. There the thumbnail of your picture has appeared. Also the "Web location of picture"-field is automatically filled in with the right address. Press on the thumbnail to view the full screenshot.
Entropia Forum topic: If you have made an Entropia Forum topic about an entry you are making, you can enter the number of that topic. Topic-numbers can be read in the address field of your browser, when viewing your topic. There is a topic number with the title of the topic behind it.
Consider this address:
"http://www.entropiaforum.com/forums/services/88126-register-you-globals-hofs-aths-here.html"
The topic number is 88126 so, you can fill in 88126 in the Entropia Forum topic field
Only the number is required!
When someone watches the detailed page of your entry, a link to the topic will be shown. The viewer can click the link to "gratz!" you on your achievement.
Team: When your global or HoF, was made in a team. You can now choose your teammates, who were with you at that moment. First look if they also have an account on this site. Move the names from the avatar list to the member list with the little buttons between those lists. Members added this way, will be able to attach there own screenshot to that global or HoF. If your teammates do not have an account on this site, you can add them manually to your team, with the 'add non-registered member' field above the two lists. Downside of this way, is that those members cannot attach there own screenshot to the global or HoF. So maybe you should encourage them, to also make an account on this site, to attach there screenshots to your global and HoF, so yours will look more fancy.
Editing: When you made an entry, and you noticed you made an mistake, making it, you can always alter the entry. View your list of global and HoF's while you are logged in. In front of the entry you made, an edit link appears. Click it, and you will see a similar page as you saw when registering the global or HoF. Alter your mistakes, or add extra info, and press save changes. When non-registered team members have registered in the meantime, you can delete the non registered one, and put in the registered one. After that the other member can attach his/her screenshot to your global or HoF.
Extra for societies:
It is also possible to get a little summary of all entries from one society, on a society website. The list of 10 items can contain the latest entries or the best entries of this month, made by your society.

The lists layout is fully adjustable using CSS. For information how to get such a list on your website, please contact me, using one of the methods mentioned below.
Browsing the lists:
All the entries by all people made can be viewed in different ways. To see a basic list of all entries, click on the hoflist link. As default this list is sorted on the date of the entry and contains all globals and hofs registered at this website.
Click on one of the menu buttons to change your view. The first two buttons are for selecting and deselecting an avatar. To select an avatar, click on the second button. Now you see a list of all the avatars with a summery of their entries. Click on the name of the avatar which entries you wish to see. Now you are viewing a list of all hofs and globals this avatar has made, or has contributed in (as a teammember).
To deselect this avatar, just click on the first button.
The third to fifth button are there to select how many entries per page you want to see.
The four green buttons (sixth to ninth) are for selecting a profession. When you click one of them, only the entries with the selected proffesion will be in the list. To deselect this filter, click on the last of the four buttons. Once clicked you will see all entries of all professions again.
The last two grey buttons (tenth and eleventh) are the sorting options. You can choose to sort the list by date or by the value of the loot. The buttons speak for themselves.
The different viewing options can be combined. For example you can view only the mining globals of a certain avatar, sorted by value. And you can choose to view this list as pages of 50 entries.
More advanced search functions are also available. Click on the "Advanced search options" link on top of the hoflist. The advanced search functions can only be used, when you are logged in.
